We help as many people as possible in the organisation to understand the processes that lead up to project scheduling — to a WBS, network diagram and Gantt chart, for example — as well as the values that deviate from the baseline.
We help everyone understand what a critical path is, and why members of the team who have tasks on the critical path need special attention and support. People need to understand that if these staff or contractors are pulled away to do other things, the whole project could be late.
Later down the line, other ways of scheduling (e.g. Critical Chain Project Management) may be considered.
